Opening Reception

November 11, 2022

Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library

I was raised in an environment full of artists, so the symmetry between art and life has always been an obvious but gracious reality for me. I earned a BFA in painting from Northern Illinois University. Upon completion of my studies at NIU I began to show work throughout the country including Chicago, New York and New Mexico. I was an artist-in-residence at the Historic Santa Fe Foundation in New Mexico and at The Petrified Forest National Park. I currently live and work in Chicago but enjoy traveling the vast landscapes of this country for subject matter.

For me, paint is the best medium to translate, document, and help interpret the world. Like many painters in the past, spending the time and having the opportunity to consciously observe and bear witness to the environment allows for artistic excavation and appreciation of the scene. My goal is to preserve and share what I discover: light, color, relationships, and history through imagery.
