Local artist, Barbara Stepura was born and raised in Washington, DC, and has lived in Southern Maryland for much of her adult life. A talented painter, Barbara is equally accomplished in both oils and watercolors. She has taken classes at the College of Southern Maryland and workshops with many prominent artists including Sara Linda Poly, Larry Chappalear and Gwen Bragg. In addition to five solo exhibits, three invitational exhibits, and more than 45 juried shows, her work has been displayed at The Art League and Gallery West in Alexandria, VA, Capitol Hill Art League in Washington, DC, River Gallery in Galesville, MD, Mattawoman Creek Art Center in Marbury, MD, Civista Medical Center in LaPlata, MD, Greenbelt Federal Courthouse, and the Southern Maryland Delegation Office in Annapolis. Barbara has been a Bin Gallery Member at The Art League since 2007, is active with the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association, MCAC Artists' Advisory Committee, and Capitol Hill Art League in Washington, DC. She has received numerous awards for her beautiful and compelling paintings.
