Stephen Brehm
Stephen Brehm hold Bachelors Degree in Fine Art from the University of Pennsylvania Millersville. He was featured in American Art Collector, Philadelphia Style Magazine and has received numerous honors for his talents. His paintings reside in homes and businesses from California, Florida, throughout the northeast and Europe. Stephen exhibits extensively at outdoor art shows in the northeast, southeast as well as galleries in Delaware and Pennsylvania. Born in Verdun, France, Stephen spent his youth moving with his family to Germany, Italy and Puerto Rico. Later he relocated to the United States and has lived in locations from California to New York, Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi & Pennsylvania. Through his travels, Stephen developed a deep appreciation for the seascape and landscapes, and the relationship humans have with these sites in nature. An ex surfer and scuba diver Stephen is drawn to the oceans changing moods and nostalgia. In oil, he captures light, shadow and air with deliberate juxtaposition of colors while building the painting surface with loose, vibrant brushwork . Stephen was influenced by artist that had a loose and direct painting method, capturing a gesture or objects with simple, free brush work. Artist like, Wayne Thiebaud, early Edward Hopper, and John Singer Sargent were his inspirational masters. www.StephenBrehm.com
