Donna Klimek Clement was born in Union, New Jersey. She studied fine art at Montclair State College, and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, with a degree in fashion design. Her self-taught watercolor skills escalated her career as a major fabric print and screen art designer. After a rewarding career, and which led her to traveling the world, she has retired to live the dream of the life as a fine artist. She founded and was president of the Salem County Art League in 2005 to create an art community where local artists can share their work, have a community studio to paint in, take workshops, and support each other and art.The league currently has over 80 members. Her sophisticated simplistic watercolor style depictions of the transformative effects of light and values, of the earth, sky, clouds, mountains, city streets, water, portraits, horses, and flowers are life-affirming. Her application is confident and full of bravado. She has a reverence for classical music, nature and love of the outdoors. Her activities include playing the piano and violin, farming, traveling, and horseback riding, which inspire her passions in various subjects.Donna lives on her 60 acre farm now and enjoys the inspirations the local nature, farm and animals bring her.One of her favorite quotes is: I lived in solitude in the country and noticed how the monotony of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind ~ Albert Einstein As a child Donna was passionate about art and received awards and prizes for her innate talent. She is so appreciative to have had the opportunity to study for the last 10 years, annually with the master Charles Reid, and has taken multiple workshops with Vladislav Yeliseyev, Andy Evansen, Mick McAndrews, and one with Alvaro Castagnet Tony Couch, Mel Stabin, and Mary Whyte. Her artwork is included in numerous private art collections throughout the U.S.
