Painting has been an extension of my love for nature and a way to study it. It is my way of sharing what I see and feel with others.Because of my love of painting, and my love of the Maine landscape and seascape it was a natural progression to paint en plein air. I have been an outdoor painter for the past eight years. I travel every year to outdoor painting events to paint and sell my work. I have won an assortment of awards that include first place in the 2011 inaugural City of Surprise (AZ) Plein Air Competition (and my very first plein air event), honorable mention in the 2015 Ocean Park (ME) Art in the Park Festival, second place overall in the 2017 Tamworth (NH) Wet Paint Festival, third place in the Quick Draw Competition in the 2017 Parrsboro (NS) International Plein Air Festival, and People's Choice Award at an event at the 2017 Boothbay Harbor Stroke of Art Competition and honorable mention at the 2018 Tamworth Wet Paint Plein Air Festival The more I paint outdoors the more intimate I become with our Earth and the more I can share this intimacy and value for our environment with others. It is the challenge to complete a study or finish a painting outdoors that keeps me going out for more. I graduated from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo with a BFA in Communication Design and began my career as a graphic designer and illustrator in design firms and advertising agencies in the Central New York region. I then established a freelance business in Design, Illustration and public art mural painting before moving on to a fine art career while living in Arizona. In 2012, my wife and I moved to Maine where I travel the state painting its blooming springs, bucholic summers, colorful autumns and snowy winters!
