Brief Biography Joyce M. Lupresto Began in oils as a young stay at home mom and then found a craft shop teaching folk art; this was my first attempt at painting. This was a start but I found without any drawing skills I would have to stay in the lines and that was too confining for me -- too ridged, confining and repetitious. Then went on to study with artists in the area such as Nancy Smith (oils & watercolor) and Ginna P. Lagergren (Pastel). Was a great start but still felt I needed more structure to build a foundation, whereby found Indianapolis diploma program and completed that in 1991. The next summer started an ongoing 2 week session at Arrowmount with Lenard Kowalski (Maryland) for 6 years. Still going back to Arrowmount whenever I can. I now reside in Kentucky and find the topogophy as enjoyable. And at this time always find myself forever learning. I still paint with the Indiana Plein air Painter and since moving to Kentucky have joined the Louisville Plein air Painters.
