Maryanne Jacobsen

Maryanne Jacobsen is a colorist and contemporary impressionist. She began painting in 2006 after an early retirement from a ballet career allowed her the opportunity to indulge in a childhood dream to become a visual artist. With color the motivating factor in her desire to paint, she picked up a palette knife and the magic of creation began. The love affair is still in high gear seven years later, and Maryanne feels blessed to have found one more passion in a life that has been filled with artistic accomplishments.Over the past few years Maryanne has been juried into many local and prestigious national shows including the American Impressionist Society, American Women Artists, The National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, Paint America, and Women Painters of the Southeast. She has won many awards, including First Place and Best of Show and paints en plein air as often as possible. She is collected both nationally and abroad and recent collectors of note include American author Ed Meek, British author Deborah Lawrenson and The Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida. Maryanne is represented by galleries throughout the United States including Galerie du Soleil in Naples, Fl., Gallery444 in Union Square,San Francesco, Lorica Artworks in Andover, Massachusetts, and Collector's Gallery in Venice, Fl.A complete list of juried shows, plein air competitions, and awards can be found on Maryanne's website at http://www.maryannejacobsen.com
