I grew up sailing and sketching on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Primarily I was a self-taught painter with tips from my grandfather and mother. Through the years, I enjoyed lessons from other painters in Maryland, Massachusetts and Maine.Influences: French Impressionists, Wyeths, Garber, Redfield.

I have always loved to paint outdoors, “plein air” and always travel with art or painting supplies even if I only take along a sketch pad, pencils and a very small watercolor case.
