Megan is originally from Manasquan, NJ a small beach town on the Atlantic coast. She had her first formal painting instruction with renowned landscape artist Ted Goerschner, N.A. as a young girl. Ted taught that an artist must know how to draw or their work would not be believable. Thus began a lifelong love of drawing and painting the figure, portrait and landscape. Megan studied Fashion Illustration at Moore College of Art, where she received exceptional instruction in classical figure drawing under the tutelage of Jack Henderson, N.A. and continued her studies in painting and drawing at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.Megan's recent honors and awards include Best Landscape, 156th Exhibition of Small Oil Painting, Philadelphia Sketch Club, Selected Artist for the 2018 Portrait Society of America/Cecilia Beaux Forum Mentoring Program and a First Place/PSC Medal from Juror, Nelson Shanks, at the Philadelphia Sketch Club.Her work is many private collections and has been featured in exhibitions at the Salmagundi Club, Prince Street Gallery, Winterthur Museum, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, James Oliver Gallery, Philadelphia Sketch Club, Crystal Moll Gallery, Bridgette MAYER Gallery, The Galleries at Moore and others.She has participated in Bucks County Plein Air, Plein Air Brandywine Valley, Castine Plein Air Festival, Paint Out Chadds Ford, Farm to Table Plein Air, LBI Plein Air, Gibson Island Paint Out and quick draws including Plein Air Easton. Megan also participates in portrait and figure painting competitions at Salmagundi in NYC and Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia.She is represented at Main Stretch Gallery in Manasquan, NJ Professional affiliations include, Philadelphia Watercolor Society, American Impressionist Society, American Women Artists, Oil Painters of America, Portrait Society of America, Art Renewal Center, Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association, Moore college of Art & Design Alumni Association, and the Fellowship of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art.Megan lives and works in North Wales, PA
