Biographical Note Patti began her professional career as an art teacher in Pennsylvania in 1980. During her twenty three years as a teacher, she honed her fine art skills through study at a number of schools in the Philadelphia area: Moore College of Art, Tyler School of Art, and The University of the Arts. In 1991 she received a year long sabbatical through the Owen J. Roberts School District to travel and to study at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. In 2001 Patti took early retirement so she could paint full time. She was a recipient of the Valerie Lamb Smith Art Residency through the PAFA that same year. Patti was also a faculty member at the Chester Springs Studio in Historic Yellow Springs, PA where she taught and volunteered for six years. Since retirement Patti has participated in a number of professional, juried, and invitational shows. She has been invited to participate in a biannual highlight -- The Squirrel Gallery Show from 2001 to 2011. In 2008 she was invited to participate in the show All About Trees at Historic Yellow Springs. In 2009 she was awarded First Prize in the oil and acrylic category and was also the recipient of The Audubon Nature Award at the Drawn by Nature Show held at The John Audubon Center in Mill Grove, PA. That same year she was invited by the group Art By Ten to present a one person show, Colors of the Heart, at the Malvern Library. She was also honored to be selected to exhibit in the American Academy of Equine Art 2010 Fall Juried Show, in Kentucky. In September of 2011 and 2012 Patti was accepted to participate in Brandywine Valley Plein Air Event. This past spring she participated in the Oxford Art Alliance Plein air event at Winterthur. She has donated works of art for sale at the French and Pickering Creek Conservation Trust and also participates in shows at The Vineyard church in Chester Springs, Pa She lives with her husband Mike and Border Collie, Wolfie, in Warwick Township, Chester County, Pa., a location that provides an unending source for paintings.
