Tami Louco has been painting outdoors since high school when her art teacher took students outdoors to paint en plein air. Drawing and painting portraits and figures from life was another practice her art teacher introduced. Tami continued her art studies at Geneva College and the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Studio Art and English Literature. A Pittsburgh native, Tami has also lived in the Philadelphia region, the Boston area and now in northern New Jersey. While pursuing many different ways of earning a living and raising three sons with her husband, Tami continued to paint from life: landscapes, portraits, and figures. She has experimented in the studio and with various media: pastel, watercolor, acrylics and oils as well as sculpture. Her work has been juried into and won awards in shows in the northeast. Currently Tami is focused on painting in oils, from life, figurative and landscape. She has participated in many plein air events.
