Tara is both a studio painter and plein air painter. En plein air, there is a passionate relationship between Tara and the scene to be painted. This union although fleeting and temporary is a direct response to what is seen and what is felt within not just a recording of what she sees. Line, color, texture and shapes are exaggerated to create and represent that feeling and mood. Movement and light adds to a feeling of abstraction to the paintings
Tara's studio work tends to be reflective and more abstracted and is often based on imagery painted en plein air. An insight during a session en plein air definitely influences her studio work and visa versa.
Tara exhibits in many solo and group exhibitions and competes in plein air competitions regularly. Her work is held in public and private collections in Europe and the US. She received a BA from Chestnut Hill College and teacher certification from Kutztown University. She is a signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society. She continues to teach art workshops and has taken many groups to Europe to study.
