My pastel artworks explore color, and how it is influenced by light and shadow. My travels to Iceland, Italy, France, Sedona, California, and the Caribbean during the past few years have greatly inspired my work and have assisted me in realizing my goal of conveying the intense pulsations and energy I feel in the world around me. I am a juried member of the Pastel Society of America. Recently, I was in residency for two weeks at the Vermont Studio Center. A participant in hundreds of group exhibits, I have had seventeen one-woman shows, and I am the recipient of many awards. My work appears in public and private collections, and in publications. From Syracuse University, I earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Illustration, as well as a Master of Art Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Printmaking from the Pennsylvania State University. I have has studied under and have been influenced by Master Pastelists Daniel Greene, Bill Creevy, and Richard McKinley. My love of color and light has drawn me to work with students of Henry Hensche and the Cape School of Art (Camille Przewodek, Lois Griffel, and Susan Sarbach). My preference is to work in plein air. For the past four years, I have participated in Plein Air Brandywine, and I have been a plein artist with Paint Snow Hill. I have taught on the college and graduate school levels. Currently I teach at Padua Academy.
