My interest has always been in exploring color harmonies and light. Along with my love of the natural environment I am also drawn to historical structures and cultural artifacts. I try to reflect this fascination in my paintings. I am largely self-taught, but have also pursued drawing studies at the Art Institute of Chicago and painting work shops with leading plein air painters. My favorite mediums are oil and watercolor due to their luminous quality, my greatest inspiration comes from the French Impressionists' use of color.
