A practicing psychiatrist, Dennis Young has pursued his other life as an artist for the past seven years. He paints in both oils and pastels, in studio or en plein air, favoring cityscapes and iconic landmarks. Self-taught, he is influenced by works in galleries and fine art magazines and by superb local painters. For this artist, each painting is a personal postcard on canvas, connecting scenery and impressions and memorable visitors. Dennis has garnered multiple awards including Best Use of Light Award in 2012 in Easels in Frederick competition, and Peoples` Choice Award in the 2013 Dover Days plein air show.
