Most of my life has been spent in the beautiful Hudson River Valley of New York state. The Catskill Mountains were to our north, Hudson River to our east and the Shawangunk Mountains to our west. Surrounded by that kind of beauty and nature, it`s easy to grow up and appreciate the many wonderful perspectives that nature offers. Yes, there are so many beautiful places. When I was very young I loved to go out into the woods and paint. I guess you could say I was involved in Plein Air painting and didn`t realize it. In 2004 we relocated to Delaware and the mid atlantic region. You don`t have to travel far to stumble on farms, tidal basins, estuaries, marsh lands, rivers and interesting old watermen communities that dot the Delaware and Chesapeake bays. In 2006 I felt myself drawn to plein air painting and started taking workshops through the Delaware Art Museum with David Lee Jones. I`ve also taken workshops through the Easton School & Studio in Easton Maryland, with nationally recognized artists like Tim Bell, Gavin Brooks, Jill Carver and Marcia Burtt. Delaware artist H. Earl Abbott Jr has also given me periodic guidance of which I`m grateful. My style of painting moves between contemporary impressionism to contemporary realism. I love driving back country roads or coastal byways observing nature. Setting up along these wonderful vista`s gives me a sense of peace and completeness. I am a member of the Mispillion Art League of Milford De, Rehoboth Beach Art League, Plein Air Painters of the Eastern Shore (PAPES) and the Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association. I have participated in many juried and regional events such as Plein Air Coastal Delaware, Chadds Ford PA Winter Paint Out, Paint the Town Chestertown Md, Dorchester Center for the Arts in Cambridge Md, and the Rehoboth Beach and Mispillion Art League shows.
